The daily
extra-curricular activities programme offers a wide range of activities
including sports, arts and crafts, drama, games, music, computers and
service to the community. As part of this programme, our children are
encouraged to interact with other schools through the International Schools
Association of Zambia’s sporting and cultural programmes. We also
support Ng’ombe Open Community School which provides free education
for underprivileged children. LICS has an active Student Council which
represents student opinion in the school and provides opportunities for
students to exercise responsibility.
LICS has an
extensive sporting programme in which children are introduced to the basic
techniques and tactics in major sports and learn lifelong skills in living
a healthy life. We compete with other schools in Zambia in sports such
as soccer, netball, swimming, rugby and athletics in leagues and cup competitions.
Whilst the school is proud of its recent successes in these competitions,
the emphasis remains on participation, a healthy lifestyle and sporting
behaviour at all times. Our swimming pool, large covered area and
expanded sports fields enable us to play all of these sports but we will
continue to put a lot of our development energies into improving the facilities
over the next few years.
