Teachers nourish and prepare learners for their future as they are the real icon of knowledge and wisdom. To honour their hard work and determination towards our leaners, LICS Celebrated this Years Teacher’s Day in Zambian Style. The theme was centered around Zambian culture and MATEBETO was used as a way of saying thank you.  MATEBETO is a Zambian word which means “Thank You” for the work done. During the Matebeto traditional foods, drinks, snacks, and dancers are prepared to entertain and showcase Zambian cuisine. LICS Teachers were all dressed in African prints and enjoyed a warm nshima with Visashi (vegetables mixed with groundnuts) and a cooling cup of ichibwantu (drink made with Maize grans and water).

Head of School Thomas Gass emphasized on the importance of teamwork and encouraged our teachers to carry LICS values and principles as they guide our learners and maximize their potential. After this, teachers were reminded of old traditional games and music in which various awards were given. LICS staff members and teachers had a wonderful afternoon and created precious memories. To our Teachers we say Thank You, Twalumba, Zikomo, Litumezi!
